Durbar Square-
Durbar Square. This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples like Hanumandhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar (Abode of the Living Goddess),Taleju temple. Build between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla Kings of Kathmandu. An intriguing piece here is the 17h -century stone inscription set into the wall of the palace with writings in 15 languages. The Durbar Square, protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the social, religious and urban focal point of the city. Even to date, all the major state and social ceremonies, including the solemnization of coronations are performed in one of the courtyards in this complex. There are also museums inside the palace building. There is an entrance fee for foreign visitors. Your ticket to the Square entitles you to visit all the museums.

Swaymbhu Natha -

The Swayambhunath complex consists of a stupa, a variety of shrines and temples, some dating back to the Licchavi period. A Tibetan monastery, museum and library are more recent additions. The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. Between them, there is something painted which looks like the nose - but is the Nepali symbol of 'unity', in the main Nepali language dialect. There are also shops, restaurants and hostels. The site has two access points: a long stairway, claimed to have 365 steps, leading directly to the main platform of the temple, which is from the top of the hill to the east; and a car road around the hill from the south leading to the southwest entrance. The first sight on reaching the top of the stairway is the Vajra. Tsultrim Allione describes the experience:

 Sleeping Vishnu-
In the village of Budhanilkantha north of Kathmandu you find a thousand year old stone 5 meter tall sleeping Vishnu (Jalasayana) lying in the cosmic ocean resting on Ananta Sea the thousand headed snake. The statue lies in the middle of a small pond.

What is a sleeping Vishnu (Jalasayana) ?
In Hindu mythology every major time area (Yuga) starts and ends with Vishnu sleeping in the cosmic ocean for millions of years. The universe starts (explodes ??) with Brahma being born out of the navel of Vishnu. After that Brahma starts creating. When an era ends everything is sucked back into the breath of Brahma who disappears again into the navel of Vishnu  (implosion ?) and Vishnu will sleep until the next cycle .

Day 02 : After having breakfast we will lead you to full day sightseeing at Swyambhunath, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square.

Day 03 : Full day sightseeing at Bhaktapur, Changunarayan and Budhanilkantha.

Day 04 : Drive to Daksinkali Temple, Chobhar and Kirtipur for the sightseeing, optional Nagarkot sunset & stay

Day 05 : Transfer to the airport. Departure on your own destination.

Baudha Nath-
One of the oldest and the biggest Buddhist monuments ever built in Nepal,is also World Heritage Site of the UNESCO. Boudha Nath Stupa is famous for Buddhist painting and Thanka gallery.Boudhanath is an imposing structure standing some 36 meters. The Stupa stands on the massive three level mandala style Platforms surrounded by colorful private family houses,Buddhist related goods.

The basic feature of this great stupa is very much like that of Swayambhunath stupa except its finial displaying. It is much bigger than Swayambhu Nath Stupa and lies on the valley floor whereas the former one  stands on the hill top.  This stupa is said to have been built in 5th century A. D. The site is considered very much like mecca for the Tibetan Buddhists and every year tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the Himalayan region visit the stupa.

According to a very popular legend long time ago the kingdom of Kathmandu was under terrifying draught. King Dharma Deva was very worried. An astrologer advised him that only the sacrifice of an ideal man with 32 virtues in front of the dry royal water spout could make the rain fall in the country. And in the following night he commanded his son to go to the dry water spout inside the royal palace compound at mid night and behead the person shrouded in white robe without looking at him. The Prince obeyed his father but to his great horror only to find it was none other than his own father.  In order to atone the big sin and in removal the prince said to have built this great stupa. As an entrepot of ancient Nepal-Tibet trade route, the site is popularly frequented by Tibetan visitors. During Lhosar festival the pilgrims worship the Buddhist deities, light the increase and butter lamp day and night.You can see some elephants and other animals beside budhha statue,it is said to have been used in the constuction task of the massive stupa in the ancient time.
