Nagarjun Forest Reserve The climbing site has wide range of routes and is best place for beginners, intermediate and professional climbers. Nagarjun is located 3 Km North West of Kathmandu Valley. To reach the climbing spot, we will have to hike 30 minutes from the entrance gate following the dirt road to a point just before the army check post where you will come across a track leading to the right. Follow this trail through trees and shrubs for about five minutes, and there's the cliff. The limestone face is about 12 meters high, and there are several piton-equipped routes.
Hattiban Hattiban rock climbing site is located on a way to temple Dhaskinkali. The climbing site is for professionals where they can enjoy top level grades climbing. Drive time is approx. 1 hr and you will have to hike for 30 minutes to reach the spot.
Shivapuri Another interesting rock wall is situated on the slope of Shivapuri hill to the north of Kathmandu . Drive approx. 9 km up to Budhailkantha, the shrine of the sleeping Bishnu, then walk west from the bus stop the Vishnumati stream through terraced fields and enters the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife reserve. The granite faces here lie scattered about, and the big cliff in the center is equipped with a single route. Peak Climbing A total of thirty three peaks, of up to 6600 meters elevation, have been designated as “Trekking peaks”. The title may suggest that these peaks are easier to attempt than expedition peaks but this is not necessarily true. Some, in fact, are technically very demanding and have foiled the efforts of some highly experienced mountaineers. The control of these peaks has been entrusted to the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) who issue permits and over see the regulation of ascent.
Compared to expedition peaks, the regulations pertaining to trekking peaks are relatively simple. A permit is required, which is issued by the Nepal Mountaineering Association upon payment of a royalty fee. She lies alongside Everest in the heart of the Khumbu valley offering a superb Annapurna Expedition Annapurna is also known as the store of the rise, located in Himalayan ranges of Nepal . The best climbing seasons is on April, May (pre-monsoon) and late September, October (post monsoon). This magnificent peak rises as a giant shoulder of shining ice and snow. It got its name from the Sanskrit word "Dhavala" which means 'white' and ‘giri', which Everest Expedition Even though Sir E. It shares the historic route up the East Rongbuk Glacier and is climbable by a relatively safe and straightforward route. It is just over the milestone altitude of 7,000m, making it higher than anything outside Asia and is probably the most climbable 7,000m peak in the world. Makalu Expedition It was first climbed by a French party in 1955. The peak was first mapped and photographed from the Tibet side in 1921 by British Everest reconnaissance. Hillary and Shipton photographed Makalu during a side trip on the 1951 Everest reconnaissance. Hillary and others approached the peak a year later after the failure of their Cho Oyu expedition. Manaslu Expedition Mt. Manaslu (8,163m / 26,781ft) Located 28.32.58 longitude and 83.33.43 latitude Manaslu is situated in the central region of Nepal in the Gorkha massif is the eighth highest mountain in the world. The name Manaslu was derived from the Sanskrit word "Maanas" meaning "soul" or "intellect". Japanese were the first to climb Manslu Mountain in 1956, therefore it is still Pumori Expedition The ascent starts at 5,300m. In a beautiful base camp aside a small lake (water source, take water filters or barrels - where you can pack your equipment- and to clarificate the water -let sand to drop all night-). From base camp you have the most wonderful sight of Mt. Everest you can imagine, just above is Kalapattar Rock hill at 5545m. Shisapangma Expedition Its Sanskrit name is "Gosainthan". Reinhold Messner called it "an exquisite apparition". Indeed, it is emerging out of the earth-brown Tibetan plateau a solitary snow goddess rearing its not-so-ugly head out to be admired. It was first climbed by H. Ching and Nine Climbers in 1664.This 'exquisite apparition' is located in central Himalaya and lies totally within Tibet.
